Time sheets led to discrepancies
Until the end of 2022, time was recorded using traditional time sheets on paper. This often led to inconsistencies. The accounting department was unable to keep up with the latest developments because the time sheets were usually not filled out by the employees until the end of the week, and sometimes not until the end of the month, says Janike Scheffler.
Since using the Meisterwerk app, things have been different.
The app was particularly convincing with its Job-related time recording. In 2022, the company had tried out various programs for time recording and finally decided on the Meisterwerk app, says Scheffler. The Handwerker app has been properly established since January 2023.
The office has given the workforce the option of entering the working time at the end of the day or using the start-stop function as with a digital time clock. The main thing: it's up to date.
The start-stop function is particularly useful for truck drivers, for whom the working day starts from home in the morning, and is used with pleasure, says the commercial employee.
Digital time recording with added value
"When colleagues write down their hours on the same day - something they didn't do before with the time sheets - discrepancies are very quickly noticed. We can now directly track how long who has worked," Janike Scheffler reports happily.
Also, at the end of the month, she and her colleague simply pull an Excel summary for payroll.
Overview, Job and archiving
Although the main focus is on time tracking, the team now also uses the app's documentation and chat function and uploads delivery bills and measurements, for example. At the end of the workday, they add photos of the site progress in the app. In the past, WhatsApp was used, and a lot of things got mixed up, Scheffler recalls. "There was one employee who sent a photo and four weeks later we didn't know what the picture belonged to. Now, when we're looking for an Job, we have everything at our fingertips," says Scheffler.
Janike Scheffler can also recommend the app with a view to archiving: "As long as I use this app, I can view every Job." In the future, the company plans to use other functions such as Dispatching planning and Digital Forms.
