Elektrotechnik SA & Söhne GmbH certainly does not lack for Jobs. The family business employs around 35 people. And the trend is rising. Elektrotechnik SA & Söhne is based in Euskirchen. The family business is owner-managed by the founder Armindo da Silva Sa. The two sons Gil and Michael Lima Sa are trained electronics engineers and have joined their father's company. While Gil is the managing director of the electrical engineering company, Michael Lima Sa is in charge of scheduling the workforce. We talked to him about the challenges that this job brings.

What are the challenges in Job and operation planning in your company, Elektrotechnik SA & Söhne GmbH?

Michael Lima Sa:
We have to be able to react quickly to changes at short notice when planning the staffing of our electricians, roofers and electronics technicians. For example, if material is not delivered on time, the scheduled date falls through. It is then important that the planning office in the plant can reschedule the affected employees as quickly as possible.

How did employee scheduling used to work in your electrical engineering business?

Michael Lima Sa:
Before we started using the Meisterwerk app, all employee scheduling was done via a Google calendar. Our biggest problem was that we couldn't see if employees were not scheduled at all or even if they were scheduled twice. The time required to keep track of this was immense.

How has personnel planning worked at Elektrotechnik SA & Söhne GmbH since you started using the Meisterwerk app?

Michael Lima Sa:
The Meisterwerk app has solved exactly the big problem with double occupancy for us. Now, when scheduling, we can check for each employee if they are already scheduled in the desired time slot. If it is, Meisterwerk's simple scheduling overview shows me. And when I view an Job, I can immediately see which employee is scheduled for which day. This way, I always have an overview.

Conclusion: Our colleagues know days and weeks in advance when, where and with whom they are on the road.

What other features do you like about the Meisterwerk app?

Michael Lima Sa:
The overview within the Jobs is particularly successful. There you can find the corresponding contact person for each Job. Photos and documents are stored by the planning office and the employees. Thus, everything is centralized. So there is no confusion when several people are working on the Job at the same time. And that is extremely important for us.
